Looking To Settle

Along the Fawn-Run Brook

Mist peels off

The autumn hedgerows

Where flies September-sensation

Sunup butterflies; swing-tottering on

Tattered flag parasail wings,

Catching tiny, warming-air-fairy springs

Between Bramble-heaven fruit

And harsh-hell hooks and webs,

Looking to finally settle on

A gentle-hearted god.

  1. This is vivid. The last two lines require re-reading over and over simply due to beauty.
