As Tides Always Will

Those years ago,

Our first encounter,

I had only sounds …

Sounds and the pictures

Behind my eyes.

Now tunes return, as

Tides always will

And now I am able to

View the world-as-was.

I cannot help but smile

– So rainbow wide –

At the waters deep,

The bridges long

And all of those

Glorious adventures

In smoke.

This reminds me of a band called “pictures and sound”. Such soothing, romantic music. Just like your words.

  2. Love your poetry, it really makes me think.

Thanks. I take that as a real compliment because I hope my poetry can get readers thinking. I remember, particularly, coming across a poem called Thrushes by Ted Hughes. The first poem I ever read that made me think, rather than one that was a straight forward description or narratve.
Thanks as always for your support.
