It may not be obvious
From the scene presented;
In which we stand
Shoulder to shoulder
In the dragon crowds,
But we are, normally,
Of different flags.
But make no mistake;
This night his strikes
Will be my strikes
And my shield will be his.
Spirits are high,
Pulses ramped
And we expect
Our red-men champions
To bring the whip,
The hammer
And swords of
Justice thunder
To your Iron Tower,
Your channel shore
Of golden sun and
Riderless horses!
You captured the mood, even I’m watching and urging and hoping and..
I remember you “confessed” some loyalty to Barnsley.
To be absolutely honest the draft this grew from was put together during our hapless journey to the away leg of the play offs (in which Barnsley out played us and won 3 0,)
So I didn’t post it, but revised a few lines and added the word “dragon” and re-cycled it as a Welsh “anthem”.
Good game, best team won (just what happened at Barnsley, ironically.
But Wales have nothing to be ashamed of!
