The Call and Answer Game

Elegant and sophisticated

She is,

And wears deep liquid laughing eyes,

But still she

Stalks the black stage –

With design

As much as desire –

Carrying a god-killer hammer

And demon traps.

 

Sweet she be, and

Smile coquettishly wide

She may,

But be aware:

She will not play the

Simple call-and-answer game

With me,

With you,

For ever.
