Eve …

Thor,

Dark witch of thunder,

Bleeds for our distraction;

Sometime champion

Far away from the Rainbow Bridge

And ill at ease

In the sparkling peace

That violence brings,

Desperate to hear again

Those candle-tales of a

Quiet star above a stable.

A safe and merry Christmas to one and all

Loki’s Stove

Honey-tongued Loki,
Dark-feather father of
Deceit, mischief and evasion
Has been stokin’ his summer,
Drum –sin, tense-skin stove.
Dry, death-beckon dust,
Recalls the terrible, gong-ring thunder
Of the last Ragnorak
That saddest of conflicts:
Bloody faith turning in
On its own convictions:
Tearing believers to gibbering shells.
High, hold-heaven skies
Understand the difference between
Axeman, innocent and chorister;
Know that shelter is promised to none
And that survival is no guarantee of sanity.

Bottled Thunder.

lightning

In iron-rivet and

Heron feathered cloak,

Down rampage cloud edges

The hammer god is coming;

With drums of dreams,

Savage lights,

Bottled thunder and

The heavy Revenge Basket.

This night we burn the past,

Settle the retribution bones,

Rattle the rune stones, and

Fall headlong and laughing

Into lightning barrel futures.

What You Ought To Value

Silver ribbons

That were once rain –

Are following their

Liquid grace race,

With moon-fuelled,

Rune-serpent weight;

Throwing Thor and

Theory curves at

Gargoyle rocks,

Calendar dreams

And bleeding-wish seas.

Reflection is a path

Mortals may dare,

But read the caveat

Before you risk

What you ought to value:

Satisfaction is, necessarily, elusive;

Ignorance can be

Genuine bliss.
